Have you forgotten about me

Have you forgotten about me
I thought you may have lost the key.

The one that always warmed my heart
Our lips would ripple slowly part.

Then you left without a word
Pierced me with that steely sword.

Tightly locked in your embrace
That code of love no longer trace.

Loughglinn my home

A few years ago I retired with family to a village in the West of Ireland.

Loughglinn my home

Luck was with me when I landed
Neighbours gathered open handed
A stranger dropped into their midst
Always willing to assist.

A change of lifestyle that’s for sure
Into an unfamiliar atmosphere
All apprehension soon dispelled
Belief in human nature upheld.

A village leaning to one side
Locals rightly beam with pride
Thankful now where I stand
Better than I ever planned.
