Brought our planet to its knees

How easily the earth can turn

As trees within the forests burn

on an axis Rotating Spinning

As its outer layer is thinning.

Talk of glacial degradation

Cutting short life’s expectation

Icebergs going into meltdown

Land submerge the planet drown.

Tidal waves encroach dry land

Conservation dismissed out of hand

Burned our coals, felled our trees

Brought our planet to its knees.

Until the last wind blows

( a tribute to The Emergency services ).

Baton down the hatches

A weatherman did say

Isobars have tightened

There’s a hurricane on the way.

Wild winds will be whipping

Up a mighty storm

Washing winding waters

A landscape to transform.

Life throws us many problems

At times hard to understand

There’s always someone out there

To lend a helping hand.

A time to care

Show emotion – not a crime

We all need a hug sometime.

Put a smile upon your face

A little kiss – warm embrace.

Too busy running – in a hurry

No time left to say – I’m sorry.

A fleeting moment in your day

A little kindness on your way.

Life’s too short to stop caring

Thinking, loving, giving, sharing

A single word, thoughtful glance

May give someone a second chance.

The cuckoo and the tree

I felt a little down today

I think I caught a bug

I went into a Forrest

Gave a tree a hug.

It was early in the morning

I heard a cuckoo call

It woke in me a feeling

Of goodness overall.

I thanked old Mother Nature

For the gift it did bestow

When it’s gone I’ll miss it

Too late to reap or sow.

So if you want a future

Where the air is clear and free

Think about your rubbish

The cuckoo and the tree.
