Laughter finds its rightful place
Laughter finds its rightful place
A weight has lifted from my mind
A feather to my soul did find
At times it tore my world apart
Struggled so it broke my heart.
Strange how life can turn around
Despair, solutions could be found
Let not depression take control
Find that helping hand to hold.
At last I’m in a quiet place
Love and laughter find a space
Tension troubles disappear
Solitude and peace appear.

Sunset in the city
An evening spent in Howth a fishing village 10 minutes drive from Dublin’s city centre. Watched the sun go down.

Peaceful moments
Onto golden sands it rolls
Rippling waters sooth my soul
Peaceful moments fill my mind
Such solitude is hard to find.
Out on western windswept shores
Away from daily mundane chores
Inhale the bracing ocean air
Frolic freely without a care.
Open up that priceless pearl
Let Achill’s endless space unfurl
Drift away on open seas
Relax, enjoy just take your ease.

Achill Island off the West coast of Ireland another pearl on the wild Atlantic way.

Bees by a river on the Northside
A quiet afternoon by the river today. The rain’s not far away and the bees were making the best of the warm weather

Climate change
Climate Change
Deforestation climate change
Human madness all deranged
Plastics washed on every shore
Carbon footprints melt ice core.
Balance nature – future goal
Preventive action a major role
Educate the non believers
Save the badgers, bears and beavers.
Governments must work together
To equalise our planets weather
Ignore the signs at your cost
Nature's beauty will be lost.

Daily prompt: Glaring
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/twitter-widget
The glaring sun
The glaring sun is amplified
By burning coal’s we provide
To melt the Arctic’s glacial core
Wash roaring seas upon the shore.
Arid deserts now survive
Where flora fauna once did thrive
Now only skeletal remains
Lost alas the planet’s plains.
Man’s footprint can be found
On beachfront, foreland, underground
Stop before the earth’s ablaze
Let nature once again amaze.

By a river on the Northside

Thought for today
Life's too short.
Life sometimes throws a spanner
Hits you like a big sledgehammer
But true friends can give us tools
Thread needles onto spools
Mend our breaking aching hearts
Help us reassemble parts
Relieve us of the worry, stress
Forget about your cares, digress.
A moment now to sit and ponder
Life's too short to fall asunder.
