Wounded by the wealthy
Are we watched by those above
I wonder how they judge us
Do they see destruction
Within the way we live.
Do they see the forests
Felled for fossil fuels
Fired up by global warming
On nature’s sparkling jewels.
Stripping out that beauty
To generate their wealth
Without due consideration
Gold cannot buy their health.
Another planet plundered
By pompous pillage pirates
Exploding in a golden glow
Extinct now by their virus.
